This course is ideal for all levels of dressmakers. For beginners who want to understand the essential first steps in creating a well-fitting garment or for the more advanced would like to improve their dressmaking skills. You’ll learn how to accurately take measurements, read a pattern, and create a toile (a practice version of a garment made from calico — a crucial part of the design and fitting process. The pattern attendees pick for the workshop should be according to their skill level or more advanced for those who already do dressmaking. By the end of the course you should have a near finished garment in fabric whereas in the one day workshop you will a completed or near completed toile.
