Michelle Power graduated from the Grafton Academy of Fashion Design in 2008 and went on to work in the fashion industry in London and New York. But over time, the fast-paced world of fashion began to feel out of step with her values. A career change into eco-tourism deepened her connection with the natural world and sparked a growing passion for sustainability.

In 2022, Michelle founded Wren & Mabel with a simple but powerful mission: to use her design and sewing expertise to help others live more sustainably and support a circular economy.

What started with sewing classes quickly grew. Inspired by the joy and creative satisfaction her students experienced, Michelle expanded her offerings to include wreath-making and lampshade-making workshops — reconnecting people with the traditional crafts that bring meaning and mindfulness to everyday life.

Today, Wren & Mabel offers both in-person and online classes, making creative, sustainable skills accessible to everyone. Alongside teaching, Michelle continues to build her slow fashion brand, crafting timeless heirloom pieces made with care, intention, and deep respect for the environment.

This is more than clothing — it’s a community, a mindset, and a movement toward slower, kinder ways of living.
