Wren & Mabel and McDermott Design are collaborating to present a very special Protest Banner Workshop.

Michelle will share her sewing skills and Meghan will guide sign writing techniques to support participants in creating bold, impactful protest banners. The creativity, however, is entirely yours.

This workshop offers a welcoming community space to design and make banners that communicate your voice in a strong and meaningful way. The focus will be on creating banners in solidarity with Palestine and calling for an end to the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis.

The workshop will take place over two evenings; however, you do not need to attend all sessions to take part.

Banners created during the workshop will be included in the Kells Type Trail this June as part of a public exhibition.

Date: Saturday 23rd May 10am-1pm
Fee: €10 to cover materials

If you wish to take part in the sewing aspect, please bring your sewing machine and be confident with the basic operation of your machine. The banners will be a collaborative effort, involving machine sewing, hand sewing, fabric cutting, typographic design and layout. This workshop is open to everyone, half the group will work on sewing while the other half will work on the typographic design.

Join us to create, connect, and make your voice visible.
